Design Technology
Design and technology is an inspiring, exciting and creative subject at Farley Hill. Children design and make products with a purpose that solve real-life problems. Our children develop a broad range of design and making skills, often disassembling real products first to investigate how things work and how things are made. This then stimulates their own product design and ability to evaluate their final product.
Children learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable designers and engineers.
We take the children on STEM visits and have other visitors, including parents, into school to explain how design and technology works in the real world. Through this creative and hands-on approach we hope to inspire future designers and engineers.
