Pupil Premium

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) and how funding is allocated.

What is the PPG?

The Pupil Premium grant is a government-funded program that helps improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in state funded schools in England. You apply by registering for Free School Meals.

If you qualify, your child or children can receive free school meals and reduced costs towards some after school activities e.g. clubs, trips and visits. You can also request financial help with the cost of your child's school uniform.

In addition the funding allows us to provide an even better education for your child through the purchase of additional resources and training of staff to support learning.

Are you Eligible?

Check this website for further information: Apply for Free School Meals

If you are in receipt of any of the following benefits then you can check your eligibility.

  • Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:

  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)

Tell your local authority if you also get any of the qualifying benefits. Our school can get extra funding if you do.

This funding is a fantastic way for your child or children to receive extra support. If you have any queries, please contact office@farleyhill.wokingham.sch.uk.  We are happy to support you through the application process and we will do so in the strictest confidence.

The following children are also eligible to receive PPG:

  • Looked After Children (Children in Care)
  • Children who have left Local Authority care because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
  • Children of Armed Services personnel

Farley Family Partner (FFP)

This year we will be introducing the new role of the Farley Family Partner as a way to support all our families. However, initially our FFP will focus on supporting our PPG families. Mrs Bailey, will be arranging coffee afternoons through the year for you to be able to come to school, meet other families socially and let us know how we can support you. Do you need help with accessing information from school? Do you need support in completing paperwork for school or other organisations? How can we help in supporting you and your children?

Dates for the coffee afternoons will be emailed to you - but in the meantime, if we can help, please contact Mrs Bailey via office@farleyhill.wokingham.sch.uk
