Farley Hill Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The school carries out thorough checks on all adults who work in school.
This means that we have a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and procedures in place which we refer to in our prospectus.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare including Children's Wokingham Children's Services. We are also part of the Operation Encompass project. Operation Encompass is a partnership between the police and education sectors that aims to support children who have experienced domestic abuse.
We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
Our Designated Person for Safeguarding and Child Protection is Mrs Jane Bateman and the Deputy Designated Persons are Mrs Karen Lewis, Mrs Claire Logan and Mrs Rebecca Reed.
